Spanish A Level Revision Course in Granada

Location

Granada is most famously known for the Alhambra, a breathtaking palace reflecting Granada’s historic Moorish influence. This influence runs right through the city and can be seen in it's architecture, culture and narrow winding cobblestone streets. Granada is the capital of the province and is home to one of Spain’s greatest universities. Despite being a small city, with over 60,000 students Granada is a bustling place with a vibrant and lively atmosphere. With cafés, restaurants, bars and terraces all offering a variety of tapas and other local treats, Granada is the perfect place to study Spanish and experience southern Spanish culture.

The school is located in the heart of Granada close to the cathedral and at the foot of the Albaicín, 5 minutes walk from the Alhambra. Set in a recently renovated historical building, the school is spread over 4 floors; the ground and first floor house the school office, library, classrooms, computer lab with free internet connection, and a patio for the students to meet. The upper two floors consist of fully equipped apartments and a terrace which offers a panoramic view over Granada.

Course

The core course comprises 20 lessons which concentrate on learning and actively using Spanish. The tuition is very much practice oriented. You will participate in group sessions alongside other students of a similar level, with lessons focused on improving all aspects of the language; speaking listening, reading and writing. There are 4 classes per day and these take place during the morning or afternoon.

In addition to this you will have 5 individual lessons throughout the week. We will ask you before you travel what you would like to cover with your tutor during these individual sessions, for example grammar, a specific thematic topic, conversation or exam practice.

You will be given a written assessment before you travel and a speaking assessment on the first morning before lessons in order to place you in the group most suited to your ability level. Classes have an international flavour and a lively feel because they are grouped by ability not nationality or age.

Accommodation

For students wanting to completely immerse themselves in the Spanish language and culture we recommend that you stay with one of our carefully selected Spanish host families. They will not only introduce you to the Spanish way of life and help you practise the Spanish language but will also give you a taste of local and delicious regional specialities. The host families are situated near to the school and provide half board accommodation (breakfast & evening meal) from the Sunday before your course starts to the Saturday after it finishes. Subject to availability and at a small surcharge, an extra day on one side of your trip may be available on request to facilitate flight dates. You can read more about what it means to stay with a host family in the FAQ section of our website.

Students of 18 years or older also have the option of staying in a single room in one of the school residences with other international students. The residences offer shared kitchen and bathroom facilities and meals are on a self catering basis. Please enquire for availability and prices for a residence stay.

Transfers from Granada and Malaga airports and Granada bus station are available at an additional cost.

The regional coach service, tickets for which are booked in advance, from Malaga airport to Granada bus station is extremely good and very reasonably priced. Please enquire for details.
